Cherokee Fire Receives New Pet Masks
The masks were obtained through a nationwide initiative called Project Breathe.
A program has helped Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services acquire 30 new pet oxygen masks. The agency recently received the new masks, which will be placed on 21 fire engines and nine squads throughout the county. The department received the masks in September through an initiative put on by Invisible Fence® Brand called Project Breathe. Project Breathe is a donation program that provides oxygen mask kits to first responders to use on animals. Each kit contains a small, medium and large mask. Cherokee fire received about $921 in donations towards the program, said Cherokee County Firefighter Erik Mork. He noted $500 came from FactoryMation President Russ Sanders.
