An Acworth man is in the hospital after an incident Saturday night.
An Acworth man is in critical condition after being shot by a sheriff's deputy. On Saturday night, Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a “shots fired” call at 2742 Old Mill Place in Acworth, said Lt. Jay Baker with the Sheriff's Office. At the residence deputies encountered a man wielding a sword. A deputy shot the man, and he was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, Baker said. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.
