Suspect Leads Officers On Chase, Crashes into Woodstock Police Vehicle

A routine traffic stop early Sunday morning morphed into a short vehicle pursuit through two jurisdictions and ended with the suspect crashing into a Woodstock police vehicle.

A routine traffic stop earlier this week turned into a police chase that ended with the suspect crashing into a Woodstock police vehicle. Wasim Ibn-Darriel Abdul Majeed, 24, of Roswell was arrested on Sunday and charged by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office with failure to maintain lane, speeding, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving while unlicensed, theft by receiving a stolen vehicle and running a red light. He remains at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a $78,500 bond.  Cherokee Sheriff's Office deputies tried to pull Majeed over around 1 a.m. Sunday Jan. 27 after he was observed failing to maintain the lane he was driving in, said Spokesman Lt. Acworth Man Charged With Robbing Cherokee Bank

Chase Lovell Gates is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center for allegedly robbing Cherokee Bank in Woodstock.

An Acworth man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a Woodstock bank. Chase Lovell Gates, 27, of Acworth has been charged with allegedly robbing Cherokee Bank in Woodstock. Cherokee Sheriff's Office Spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Gates is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a $16,700 bond. The department received the call from Cherokee County dispatchers around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the bank, located at 159 Woodstock Square Avenue.  Employees at the bank told investigators that Gates entered the bank and allegedly demanded money, according to a press release from the Woodstock Police Department.  A teller at the bank gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then allegedly fled the bank on foot…

Woman Wanted By Woodstock Police For Forgery

This woman allegedly tried to pass a washed $5 bill with the appearance of a $100 bill at a cosmetic store in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police Department needs the public to help them identify a woman who is wanted for forgery in the first degree. According to the Woodstock Police Department, the woman on Saturday Dec. 22 allegedly tried to pass a washed $5 bill with the appearance of a $100 bill at Ulta Cosmetics Investigators with the department's Criminal Investigations Unit asks anyone with information on who the woman is in the photo to call the department at (770) 592-6030.

Two Held Without Bond in Attempted Robbery

Both suspects were arrested yesterday after trying to rob Cherokee Bank.

Two suspects remain held without bond after they were arrested yesterday for an alleged carjacking and attempted robbery in Woodstock.  Both Thomas Gasque, 21, of Decatur and Michael Moore, 21, of Stone Mountain are at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center after they allegedly carjacked someone at Lowe's Home Improvement on Highway 92 and attempted to rob Cherokee Bank.  Both men have been charged with armed robbery, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and vehicle hijacking, said Cherokee Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Lt. Suspects In Custody After Alleged Carjacking, Attempted Robbery

Woodstock Police said Cherokee Bank was the victim of an attempted robbery late Friday morning.

Suspects believed to have been involved in an alleged carjacking and attempted robbery in Woodstock have been taken into custody. Woodstock Police confirmed Friday afternoon they have the individuals in custody they believe allegedly carjacked someone at Lowe's Home Improvement on Highway 92 and attempted to rob Cherokee Bank.  Woodstock Police Spokesperson Brittany Duncan said the information on the suspects will be released later today.  An alarm call from the bank was placed to the Cherokee County E-911 around 10:45 a.m. Friday and dispatchers informed police that an attempted robbery occurred at the bank, located at 159 Woodstock Square Avenue.  Duncan said the alleged car jacking happened just before the attempted robbery at the bank…

Police Make Arrest In Alleged Crib Theft

Two suspects are behind bars at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on unrelated charges, but Woodstock police are still looking for one suspect.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the theft of a trailer at The HOPE Center, but police are still looking for another person.  Cobb County Police have arrested Carl James Bourque, 44, of Marietta and Bobbie Jean Colston, 31, of Woodstock after a citizen spotted the trailer taken from the nonprofit organization some time between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. According to information on the Cobb County Adult Detention Center's booking data website, Colston has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property, misdemeanor willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Woodstock PD Seeks Help In Solving Crib Theft

The HOPE Center was the victim of a theft that robbed the nonprofit organization of five baby cribs.

The Woodstock Police Department needs the public help in solving a theft that hit a nonprofit organization that caters to pregnant women. The HOPE Center, located just off Highway 92, was the target of thieves on Wednesday morning, according to CBS Atlanta. The suspects allegedly cut the lock on the facility and drove off with the trailer. The trailer was stocked with five baby cribs, Store Manager Monti Price told the news outlet. Woodstock Police Spokesperson Brittany Duncan said the theft was reported to the agency at 9:15 Wednesday morning. The trailer is described as a 2002 enclosed model with the clinic's logo on it. Woodstock PD Needs Help In Identifying Woman

The woman is believed to have a connection with several entering auto cases earlier this month.

The Woodstock Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a woman they believe could be connected to several entering auto incidents that hit part of the city earlier this month.  The department's Criminal Investigations Unit has obtained video surveillance of a woman using a stolen credit card believed to have been taken from a vehicle. The police believe identifying the woman will help them solve other entering auto cases in the city. Between the overnight hours of Sunday Oct. 14 and Monday Oct. 15, Woodstock police responded to six entering auto cases, all of which happened within the Deer Run neighborhood.
