A number of local businesses are saluting veterans, military service men and women, and their families this Veterans Day by offering local discounts, specials and promotions. New initiatives launched by Governor's Office of Workforce Development includes Operation: Workforce website for companies to list job opportunities for veterans.
Gov. Nathan Deal and the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development today (Nov. 8) launched Operation: Workforce to help returning veterans find jobs. Job listings from companies across Georgia who are looking to fill their positions with veterans are posted on the website. The website also includes information on resources and services available to veterans. GOWD also kicked off the Hire a Georgia Veteran campaign. This campaign consists of a “Pledge to Support Georgia’s Veterans” for employers to sign.
