Started in November 2011, GeorgiaLocalSearch.com offers online promotion at no charge to service men and women wanting to start their own ventures.
The high unemployment rates for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan inspired the owners of one West Cobb business to do their part in bringing that number down. Started last November, GeorgiaLocalSearch.com creates online profiles and helps with the overall Internet marketing and presence for businesses in five metro Atlanta counties: Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Douglas and Paulding. Service men and women returning from the Middle East who want to launch their own business are given the services free for a year, said Ken Adams, a retired BellSouth executive who runs the business with his wife, Donna Rae, and son, Kenny Jr. “The guys that have gone to Iraq and Afghanistan have sacrificed so much—they’ve given so much of their lives for…

Because she obviously can't cook on Mother's Day, where will you take Mom for the special morning.
Before anyone gets mad about the reference to moms always doing the cooking, let me explain: Nobody, the Cherokee County Fire Department included, wants me in the kitchen. Do you want your kids handling knives and fire? Doubtful. So unless you're married to Emeril Lagasse (BAM!), you're going to need a good place to head for brunch. So where will you take her? You have until 9 a.m. Friday to vote. Your options: We can't add any establishments to this poll, but if your favorite is missing, tell us in the comments below so we'll know for next time. You also might want to check out the options in Canton-Sixes Patch, Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch, Alpharetta-Milton Patch, Cumming Patch and Roswell Patch. The winner will be based equally on the …

I need a place to put my two dogs for three nights.
I'm nervous, OK? I'm one of those people who worries about the stress on my dogs by applying my human emotions on Daisy and Scout Finch. But here's the thing: I really need a vacation. I'm able to get away for a few days and I have no idea what to do with my puppies. I could ask my neighbors to walk them, but I've never really talked to my neighbors. I could put them in boarding, but I'm worried that will freak them out. I could pay someone else to check in on them once or twice a day. They're super low maintenance. They need a walk in the morning and a walk at night and to be fed at night. Help me, please?
