Jack Frost takes a 3D animation adventure to save all that is good and nice in the world.
Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman draft Jack Frost to be in their gang to guard against all things evil as they protect the magical state of childhood in "Rise of the Guardians." Stars such as Alec Baldwin, Jude Law, Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine and Isla Fisher lend their voices to this visually stunning film perfect for the holiday season. I'll be the first one to say that it's easy to be cynical about holiday movies but this one won't let you. This certainly isn't a Judeo-Christian holiday-themed film, as you might imagine. That's what makes it a better than your average Christmastime film. Turning these mythical beings into superheroes is clever. If it does well at the box office I see a franchise in the …

NORAD, the aerospace command in Colorado Springs, CO, will track Santa all across the globe.
Check out this link to see where Santa is throughout the day, thanks to the Air Force's North American Aerospace Defense Command, known everywhere as NORAD. Patch called the NORAD hotline at 1-877-HINORAD to ask them when Santa would be over this area and they confirmed that Holly Springs and Hickory Flat kids need to be in bed between 8:30 and 9 p.m. because that was when Santa was expected to be in Georgia. The audio of the phone call is attached to this story. You can also check out the games and activities at the Countdown Village. See how Santa and Mrs. Claus got ready for the big night with their blog posts.

It began with residents Ronald and Betty Page inviting friends over to see a village they had set up in their front room. The next year, Ronald Page bought a Santa suit and opened it up to the public. That year, 50 people visited their home. That number has grown to around 10,000. “We started off just me doing it,” Page said. “The kids the first year told their mother, ‘We meant for you to do it too.’” So now, visitors begin in the Page’s house where Mrs. Claus is waiting to greet them. They wander around watching a Polar Express train make its way …

See where the hyperlocal Claus is this week.
Santa: I hope I wasn’t supposed to write you good folks every day, because yesterday was just too busy to sit down at a computer. I believe Thanksgiving has become the second busiest day of the whole year for me! There were lots of parades to visit, and I’m as excited as the kids to see all the floats and bands that come marching down the street. It also gives me a chance to find out how well boys and girls mind their Moms and Dads…even Grandparents. You know we have to be safe when we are out like that, so I was happy to see so many children follow directions the first time they were told to hold Mom’s hand, or look both ways before crossing the street. And good manners! I can’t tell you how many pleases and thank yous I heard around …
