The Georgia Department of Labor wants to fill more than 500 job open job positions for the new outlet mall .
The Georgia Department of Labor will soon arrive in Canton to help the new Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta fill hundreds of vacant job positions. Representatives from stores such as Adidas, Brooks Brothers, Carters/Oshkosh, Cole Haan and CorningWare Corelle will be at the Cherokee Conference Center on May 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. looking for new workers for their new locations at the outlet mall in Woodstock. The Woodstock outlet mall, which will open in July, 2013, is looking to fill around 500 full-time and part-time positions, from management to sales associates and stock clerks. The much anticipated outlet mall opening in Woodstock will start looking for new employees next week. The Georgia Department of Labor will help the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta fill a number of employment slots at a job fair at Etowah High School. The expected completion date for the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta has been moved up to July 18, 2013.
The opening date of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta appears to be closer than anticipated. Horizon Group Properties announced on Friday the grand opening date for the outlet mall in Woodstock will be July 18, 2013, a few weeks ahead of the August 2013 scheduled opening. The 370,000 square-foot phase will be stocked with some of the widely known brands and designer outlets such as Brooks Brothers, Cole Haan, Nike, Under Armour, Michael Kors and Talbots. Today's weather should be nearly perfect for the city of Woodstock to hold its ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the Ridgewalk Parkway interchange on Interstate 575. The ceremony, which was originally slated to be held on Tuesday, will start at 10 a.m. today. Parking will be available along Rope Mill Road near Olde Rope Mill Park and at the VCC Construction's office area along Woodstock Parkway and Ridgewalk Parkway. The design-build project officially wrapped up on Nov. 16, about six weeks ahead of its Dec. 31 completion date. The project also was completed on budget. UPDATE @ 8:14 a.m.: the city has cancelled today's ribbon cutting due to the weather. It will be rescheduled for a later date. The city of Woodstock today will host a ribbon cutting for the new Ridgewalk interchange. The ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. near the site. Since rain is expected to linger in the area during the morning hours, the city has made parking available off Rope Mill Road at Olde Rope Mill Park.
