Kennesaw State Names Creekiew's Solon Outstanding Honors Student

The senior at Creekview High will have 52 college credit hours by the time she graduates in May in her dual enrollment.

A Cherokee County high school senior has been named Kennesaw State University’s Outstanding Dual Enrollment Honors Student for 2012-2013. Emily Solon, a senior at Creekview High School, began taking classes at Kennesaw State during her junior year. She has a 3.9 GPA and is on track to earn 52 college credit hours by the time she graduates from Creekview in May. The award will be presented during a ceremony in April. Solon has been accepted into Georgia Tech, where she will pursue a degree in biomedical engineering. She is an environmental science and pre-calculus supplemental instruction leader at Kennesaw State and also also has been a tutor in the school’s math lab. Career Training Expo at KSU

Thursday's event includes a free social networking seminar and information about continuing education and certificate programs.

The College of Continuing and Professional Education at Kennesaw State University is holding a one-day Career Training Expo on Thursday evening.  The expo is designed to help job seekers, professionals, career-switchers and anyone else interested in adding to their skills and expertise.  There will be 30- and 45-minute sessions outlining KSU's certificate programs in such areas as human resources, medical billing, Web design, Microsoft Office, personal training, paralegal, project management and more.  A free social networking class is available, and there will be an iPad 2 giveaway.  The event will last from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the KSU Center, 3333 Busbee Drive, Kennesaw.
