With more than 8,300 people unemployed in Cherokee County – and that's not counting those people who have given up, or are no longer counted by the government – a job fair can't come too soon. Holly Springs, local businesses and the Atlanta Regional Commission will respond to the need with a free Job Fair on May 8. The Holly Springs Job Fair will be held at the Train Depot Community Center from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8. That's more than a month away. Unfortunately, some new people will be jobless, and more will have exhausted unemployment benefits. Local companies and recruiters have been invited to participate by the city. Goodwill, Georgia Department of Labor To Host Job Fair on Wednesday

The job fair in Woodstock will feature a number of employers looking to recruit in various sectors.

It's time to tweak those resumes and cover letters!  The Georgia Department of Labor will team up with Goodwill of North Georgia to host a job fair on Wednesday. The job fair will be held at 10 a.m. to noon at Goodwill of North Georgia's Career Center at 9245 Highway 92 in Woodstock. The expo will have on hand a number of employers such as Allied Barton Security Services, Brickman Group, Clear Signal Network, Crane Materials International, North Georgia Staffing, Sam’s Mart/Shell Gas Station and Stalwart Staffing. Employers are recuriting people to work in the health care field in positions such as medical assistants (who can speak both English and Spanish) and those who can do medical billing.  Other employers will recruit for sales …

UPDATE: Woodstock Outlet Mall To Hold Job Fair Next Week

The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta hopes to fill 1,000 positions at a job fair at Etowah High School from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 21.

Editor's note: the story has been updated to include an amended time in which the job fair will begin. The much anticipated outlet mall opening in Woodstock will start looking for new employees next week. The Georgia Department of Labor will help the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta fill a number of employment slots at a job fair at Etowah High School.  A job fair will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday Feb. 21. The school's address 6565 Putnam Ford Drive, Woodstock, GA. The event is expected to fill over 1,000 part-time and full-time positions for the mall, which is slated to open in July.  Salary information will be discussed by employers at the job fair.
