Hanukkah: Light Up the Night
The third annual Grand Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration comes to downtown Woodstock.
The eight-day Jewish Festival of Lights, Hanukkah, was celebrated Wednesday night in downtown Woodstock for the third year in a row. Rabbi Zalman Charytan from the Chabad Jewish Center of West Cobb led the festivities. Hanukkah begins on the eve of the 25th of the Jewish month of Kislev and celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, of purity over adulteration, and of spirituality over materiality. A nightly menorah lighting is at the heart of the festival. Jewish citizens gathered downtown to participate in this spiritual event.
