Kathy Lightsey, owner of Needle 'n' Thread II Alterations, answers a few questions about her customers, Holly Springs and the job she describes as being "similar to a bartender" because people share their lives with her.
Q. What's the hardest thing about being a small-business owner in Holly Springs? A. Getting the advertising out. Q. What's the best thing about your job? A. Being able to work for yourself and providing a service for the customers. Q. What is the best thing about Holly Springs? A. It has a small-town feel in the middle of a busy county. Q. Why did you pick alterations? A. I had a natural talent for it, and I had a baby at the time. I needed to stay at home. Q. What are some of the services you offer that people don't know about? A. We do alterations on formal gowns, wedding dresses and leather.
