Hickory Flat Library Used Book Sale, MOPS Open House in Holly Springs This Week

Check out these great events happening in and around Holly Springs this week!

1. The Cherokee County Friends of the Library are holding a used book sale at the Hickory Flat Public Library on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16 - 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Friday) and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Saturday). Members of Friends can get a sneak peek of the sale during a preview held on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. Memberships can be purchased at the preview event for $15.

2. Dave Ramsey's popular "Financial Peace University" is coming to Canton and Liberty Hill UMC on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. The thirteen courses on financial management will allow you to pay off debts and have a more financially sound future. 3. If you have a green thumb, register for Saturday's "Gardening with the Masters" seminar, which will be held at the Cherokee County Senior Services Center at 10 a.m. The topics of discussion will include fall and winter vegetables, proper planting times, and how to care for cool weather plants. 4. The Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) will meet at Hillside UMC in Woodstock on Monday at 9:30 a.m. MOPS helps moms meet other preschool moms, arrange playdates, and organizes mom's night out activities. There are also speakers and crafts at some meetings. This open house will include breakfast and socializing with other moms.

5. KinderCare in Towne Lake is holding an open house on Tuesday, which will start at 6 a.m. With school back in session, day care may be an option for families in which both parents work or in single-parent families.
