Public Hearing for Millage Rate, Precinct Forum On Tap

Millage Rate Public Hearing
The City of Holly Springs will hold a public hearing and discuss setting the millage rate for the 2013 tax digest at the rate of 6.000 mills. The hearing takes place Monday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. at 3235 Holly Springs Pkwy. The Downtown Development Authority meets Wednesday at 6 p.m., and the Planning & Zoning Commission meets Thursday at 6 p.m..

Forum to Address Proposed Precinct Changes
An upcoming public forum will address Cherokee County's proposed changes to voting locations and precincts. The Cherokee County Republican Party will host the event with Janet Munda, Cherokee County Elections Board Supervisor of Elections and Registration, who will go over and answer questions about the proposed changes. The forum will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, at the Cherokee County Conference Center at The Bluffs, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton.

College Fair Coming to Cherokee
The annual PROBE college fair will stop by Cherokee High School on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m.

The 81st Annual Superior Plumbing North Georgia State Fair continues through Sunday, Sept. 29, at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta. 

Dept. of Labor Will Help Inalfa Recruit Workers
Georgia Department of Labor officials will help Inalfa Roofing Systems recruit workers in Cobb County this week. The recruitment expo for the company—which manufactures vehicle roofing systems for the automotive industry—will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Metro Campus of Chattahoochee Technical College in Acworth.
