Author to Speak in Canton Thursday Night

Local writers welcome author Amy Wallace to a meeting of the proposed ACFW chapter Thursday night.

Christian author Amy Wallace will speak in Canton Thursday night at Liberty Hill Church during a meeting of the proposed northwest Georgia chapter of the American Christian Fiction Writers. The meeting will take place from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. 

Amy writes Dark Chocolate Suspense, high-action suspense that delves deep into heart issues. Her writing has beendescribed as “…spellbinding action and characters so vivid they'll live on in your memory long after you shelve the book.” Other reviewers and readers have given the Defenders of Hope series: Ransomed Dreams (Multnomah 2007), Healing Promises (Multnomah 2008), and Enduring Justice(Multnomah 2009) highest recommendations, highlighting the page-turning suspense and depth of spiritual take-away. 
 
Her debut novel, Ransomed Dreams, was a 2008 RITA Finalist, 2008 Christy Nominee, 2008 IRCC Finalist, and a 2008 ACFW Book of the Year Finalist. Amy's second novel, Healing Promises, won first place in romantic suspense in the 2009 IRCC. 

Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Louisville and is also a graduate of the Gwinnett County Citizens Police Academy. She is a wife, homeschool mom of three, Bible study leader, speaker for women’s groups, book clubs and writing groups, president of a local writing group, co-leader of a young writer’s club, and avid chocoholic. She and her family make their home in Atlanta.

Writers in northwest Georgia are working to form a local chapter of ACFW. This national organization is known as "the voice of Christian fiction," with a mission to To promote Christian Fiction through developing the skills of its authors, educating them in the market, and serving as an advocate in the traditional publishing industry.

ACFW has over 2000 members worldwide, consisting of authors, editors, agents, publicists and aspiring writers and was organized in 2000 under the name of American Christian Romance Writers (ACRW). In 2004, the group changed the name to American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) in response to the diverse needs of its membership, who write across many genres.

 

The meeting is open and everyone is invited to attend. Door prizes will be offered, and Amy Wallace's books will be available for purchase.
