Training Champions

A tennis complex in Hickory Flat teaches kids the discipline and athleticism they need to be top-ranking players.

Luis Bagnati, a native of Argentina who now lives in Hickory Flat, operates Beat Time Sports Complex for dedicated athletes.

But can his business thrive in a location that has disappointed before? Beat Time Sports is in the old Source4 Fitness building. Source4 Fitness owners closed in February 2011 without offering any refunds or telling any of their patrons.

Bagnati said some people had talked about the building's previous owners, but that not many people affilitated Bagnati with the Source4 name.

Instead of children and teens who play many sports, Bagnati prefers that students come with a certain level of dedication to tennis.

"Some kids play everything but aren't really good at anything," Bagnati said. "We want kids who come to play one sport and make them as good as they can be."
