Sequoyah, Creekview Set for Playoffs
The Lady Grizzlies will be at home Friday, and the Grizzlies and Chiefs will hit the road Saturday in the state basketball tournament.
The Creekview girls and boys and the Sequoyah boys will open the Georgia High School Association basketball playoffs at the end of the week.
The Creekview girls, who won Region 7-AAAA with a 75-56 win over Rome on Saturday night, will open the AAAA state tournament at home Friday against Region 8-AAAA's fourth seed, Clarke Central.
The Lady Grizzlies made 22 of 28 free throws and caused 25 turnovers in the region championship, the Rome News-Tribune reported.

If the Lady Grizzlies win again Friday, they'll play at home against the Osborne-Southwest DeKalb winner the following Tuesday.

On the boys' side of the draw, Creekview opens the AAAA tournament at Loganville on Saturday. Creekview is the third seed from Region 7-AAAA; Loganville is the second seed from Region 8-AAAA.

The winner either will play at Miller Grove or will host New Manchester on Feb. 29.
Sequoyah is 7-AAAAβs fourth seed and travels to Athens to play 8-AAAAβs top seed, Cedar Shoals, on Saturday night.
A win would earn the Chiefs a trip to Southwest DeKalb or Osborne on Feb. 29.
