Defeat of Deer Run Bodes Well for Barracudas

Bradshaw Barracudas won their first swim meet of 2012.

The summer before last, the Bradshaw Barracudas swim team beat the Deer Run Dolphins on their way to the county’s “Red League” championship.

Last summer, the Dolphins beat Bradshaw Farm on their path to capturing the Red League crown.

So, the Barracudas are pretty excited at their chances for 2012 after defeating the Dolphins in the Bradshaw Farm pool by 86 points.

The Barracudas’ best of the meet include:

  • Luke Roness – he came in first in the Boys 9-10 100 IM, 25 Backstroke & 25 Butterfly races
  • Landan Ballard – he won the Boys 13-14 100 Freestyle, 100 IM & 50 Backstroke events
  • Kristina Friedrichs – she was victorious in the Girls 11-12 100 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle & 50 Breaststroke competitions
  • Grant Davis – he won these Boys 7-8 events: 100 IM, 25 Backstroke, 25 Butterfly

  • AJ Cox – he won the Boys 11-12 100 IM, 50 Backstroke & 100 Freestyle events
  • Anna Case – she came in first in the Girls 9-10 100 IM, 25 Butterfly and 25 Freestyle races
  • Lauren Case – she won the Girls 13-14 100 Freestyle, 100 IM and 50 Butterfly races Lauren, who also swims for Woodstock’s year-round team Chattahoochee Gold, has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. Go Lauren!

Barracudas Head Coach Jonny Balchus says much credit goes to Bradshaw Farm coaches Nell Hess and Jessica Teixeira for Bradshaw Farm’s first victory of summer 2012.
