UPDATE: Cherokee County Schools Make Decision About Tuesday Classes

Parents in the Cherokee County School District are asked to pick their children up early from the elementary After School Program on Monday if they are able.

As a result of the winter storm warning the National Weather Service has issued for Cherokee County starting Monday night and a state of emergency declared by the governor, the Cherokee County School District has canceled all schools and offices for Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014.

A decision on whether to hold classes Wednesday will be made by noon Tuesday, the district says.

All school activities after 6 tonight are canceled, as well. This includes all evening activities, athletic practices and games, classes and meetings scheduled in the school diistrict. 

While the After School Program for elementary schools will remain open until 6 p.m. Monday, parents should make every effort to pick up their children early, if possible, the district says

The winter storm warning will begin at 7 Monday night and runs through 7 p.m. Tuesday.
