Sophomore Wins Fire Safety Essay

A Sequoyah student earns state recognition for his work.

Christian Farrar, a 10th grader at won first place at the statewide Fire Safety Essay Contest, according to a school press release.

Christian's work was displayed at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center Awards Luncheon in Forsyth where he won a $100 savings bond and various other prizes. 

The contest, entitled "Protecting Your Family from Fire," was sponsored by Georgia Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner Ralph Hudgens’ office.
