Sewer Line Relocation Could Bring New Softball Field to High School

The Cherokee County School Board will award a contract to perform the work, which is expected to cost $450,000.

The Cherokee County School Board will consider awarding a contract to relocate sewer lines at one of the district's high schools during its meeting tonight.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the historic Canton High School/School Board Auditorium.

The project at Canton's Cherokee High School will be funded with Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes, or SPLOST, and will cost $450,000. The relocation of the infrastructure will allow the district to use property to build a new girls' softball field on the school campus.Β

Board members will also recognize 2012-13 elementary, middle and high school social studies fair winners, state and region champions and Todd Miller as Region 7-AAAAA athletic director of the year.

Board members will consider approving resignation, appointments, terminations and reassignments of its classified and certified employees. It will also consider its annual reappointment list for the 2013-14 school year.
