Sequoyah's Carter Bragg Signs with Fordham
The young Sequoyah star was awestruck when he visited New York City and Fordham University
On the first Wednesday of every February, high school and college football intertwines for one brief public moment. This is the first day that high school seniors can officially sign with their university or college football program of choice. The morning is typically spent faxing a signed letter of intent to whichever university they choose, then the football star gets to hold a press conference to tell the nation.
It's called National Signing Day.
Sequoyah's Carter Bragg decided to share his signing-day moment with 164 Atlanta-area athletes at a group event at Andretti Indoor Karting in Roswell.
Bragg told the assembled crowd that he would attend Fordham University in the fall to play football.
The 6-foot-2-inch cornerback from Sequoyah will play in the defensive backfield at Fordham and also play wide receiver. It also sounds like he's really going to enjoy his time in New York City.
One of the aspects of Bragg's recruiting trip to Fordham that really stuck with him was just how much he loved New York City. While the "small-town kid" from Canton isn't ready to call himself a "city boy", Bragg is sure that the experience of the big city, the great education he'll receive from Fordham, and his time on the football field will do a lot towards shaping the young man's future.
