Read to Run for BOE Chair
She said she wants to extend Cherokee Academies to the middle and high school level.
, will be running for board chair in the next election, Read said in a release.
"I think my seven plus years as a board member, and especially my previous chair and vice-chair experience will be an asset to me as the first county-wide elected chair," Read said. "In the past ten years we have seen many successes as a school district. I have been honored to be a part of many of those successes and would be honored to continue as the leader of the school board of such an outstanding school system."
