Nominate Locals for the Carter and Elizabeth Browning Award

Do you know someone dedicated to the Hickory Flat Community?

The Carter and Elizabeth Browning Award was established to honor the dedication of these two individuals who devoted themselves to students and adults in the Hickory Flat community, according to a press release.

The late Carter Browning served as the principal at Hickory Flat Elementary for 24 years, while his wife served that same length of time as the school media specialist. They resided in a home next to the school and unselfishly dedicated themselves to as well as to the entire Hickory Flat community. They were a team that exemplified the highest qualities of service, dedication, care and compassion to those they served, the release said. 

Individuals or groups may be nominated. Individuals do not have to be living to be nominated.

The deadline for receipt of the nominations is March 25 followed by a ceremony on April 26 at on Sugar Pike Road.
