Hiram 5th Grader Named National Wrestling Champ

Caden McCrary joined more than 2,000 wrestlers from 40 states to compete in the 2013 Tulsa OK., competition, held Jan. 18 to 19.

A 5th grader from Hiram Elementary School recently wrestled more than 40 wrestlers at the world's oldest junior wrestling event, to become the national champion of his 67-pound weight class.

Caden McCrary joined more than 2,000 wrestlers from 40 states to compete in  the 2013 Tulsa OK., competition, held Jan. 18 to 19.

Considered one of the most prestigious junior wrestling event in the world, Caden also received the Iron Thuma Award from the Greer foundation due to his excellence in wrestling.

Cres Summers, Caden's 5th grade teacher at Hiram Elementary, called him an exceptional student. "Hiram Elementary is so proud of Caden's accomplishments. Congratulations, Caden!"
