Ghosts Invade Cherokee

Sheriff's deputies team up with teens to show the dangers of drunk driving during prom season.

To prevent a memorable night from turning devastating, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office dressed teens up as ghosts and mutiliated bodies to bring awareness to the dangers of drinking and driving and reckless driving, said Chad Arp with the

The "Ghost Out" is presented for high school juniors and seniors. Students from the school serve as actors and actresses for the accident re-creation, Arp said.

"The fire department performs vehicle extrication, patient care and transport," Arp said. Then, a medical helicopter is brought in to transport the very critical patient while a coroner is called to transport those that are dead, and law enforcement is on scene to investigate and take the at fault driver to jail.
