Local Leads Israel Archeology Expedition

A King's Ridge graduate will be in the first group of students to participate in the Jezreel Expedition.

Sarah Carlton, a University of Evansville student, will be heading to the northern part of Israel this summer as part of the Jezreel Expedition to determine which areas they will excavate in 2013.

Carlton and seven other UE archaeology students will spend most of June in the ancient city of Jezreel which overlooks the biblical "Way of the Sea," the major east-west international trade route that linked the empires of the Euphrates and Tigris river basins with Egypt, according to a press release.

The students with  the Jezreel Expedition team will utilize a new three-dimensional model of the terrain, created earlier this year with an airborne laser scanning technology.
