Hiram May Hire Former Holly Springs Official

Robbie Rokovitz could become city manager in the Paulding County community if the City Council approves his contract during tonight’s called meeting.

A former city official for Holly Springs and Alpharetta might be the next Hiram city mananger. could soon end the months-long process of obtaining a city manager if City Council approves a contract tonight.

The city council is holding a 5:30 p.m. called meeting with an agenda that includes a vote on a contract to hire Robbie Rokovitz as city manager. Rokovitz, who is currently Cedartown’s city manager, was pending a successful execution of a contract between him and the city; he had been one of six candidates .

Before taking the Cedartown position, he worked in Cherokee County. In 2008, he was hired by Holly Springs to be its city manager.

Rokovitz began his career in municipal administration in 2000, seven years after he was hired by Alpharetta as a 911 communications officer. He earned a master of Public Administration and soon was picked as an assistant to the city administrator for the city. His title was changed to assistant city administrator when his duties were increased.
