Council To Mull Charter Change

The Holly Springs City Council will consider a resolution asking the Georgia General Assembly to amend its charter to change the election cycle of one council seat.

The Holly Springs City Council will consider a resolution requesting a change to the election cycle of one of its seats during its meeting tonight.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m., immediately following the 6:30 p.m. work session. Both meetings will be held at Holly Springs Municipal Court.

The city currently has the mayor and three council seats on one election cycle and two remaining seats on another cycle. The resolution would ask the Georgia General Assembly to alter its charter to even out the number of seats that would be up for re-election during any particular cycle.
