City Council Votes to Allow Backyard Chickens

The proposal will allow Holly Springs residents to raise chickens on property less than two acres in size.

The Holly Springs City Council on Monday voted to allow residents to keep chickens on property less than two acres in size

The ordinance also allows other traditional farm animals within residential zoning districts. Highlights of the ordinance include a limitation on number of animals and regulations concerning care, housing and food storage.
