Cherokee Leaders Head To Adairsville For Retreat

Cherokee Commissioners next week will hold their annual retreat at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville.

Cherokee County leaders next week will soon dispatch themselves to northwest Bartow County for their annual retreat.

The Board of Commissioners on Thursday, Jan. 16 and Friday, Jan. 17 will hold their retreat at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville.

The commissioners will set up shop on both days at the Kingston Cottage, located at 597 Barnsley Gardens Road, Adairsville, GA 30103.

The session on Thursday will start at 2 p.m., and should end around 6 p.m. Friday's session will pick up at 8 a.m. and should end around noon.

The topics the commissioners are slated to discuss include, but are not limited to: a review of 2013 and outlook of 2014, a county strategic plan, revising the county's ethics ordinance, a proposed historic preservation ordinance and economic development/innovation center and incentives. 

Commissioners have also extended an invitation to Canton's mayor and city council to "discuss topics of common interest."
