Morning Accident Kills Man

James Allen Pressley, 48, of Canton died in a two-car accident this morning on East Cherokee Drive. The driver of the other vehicle, Darrell Carl Smith, 21, of Canton, was transported to North Fulton Hospital where he remains in critical condition, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the .

The two-car accident occurred about 2:30 a.m. on East Cherokee Drive at Union Hill Road, Baker said.

The man was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in either vehicle, Baker said.

"Names of the drivers are not being released at this time," he said.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the cause of accident.
