Memorial Day Travel Tips
The Georgia State Patrol advises that you follow a few key pieces of advice to stay safe this weekend.
The Memorial Day Weekend begins Friday at 6 p.m. and ends at midnight on Monday. The Georgia Department of Transportation recommends these tips on how to stay safe:
- Always buckle up
- Obey all posted speed limits
- Do not drink and drive
- Prepare a roadside emergency kit with water, non-perishable food and first aid
- Check tires before you leave on a trip
- Make sure children and pets are not left unattended in cars where temperatures can reach unsafe temperatures
