Hospice Nurse Accused of Stealing Pills

A Woodstock nurse has been arrested and charged with elderly abuse and stealing prescription narcotics from her patients.

Amy M. Armstrong, a registered nurse for a hospice agency in Woodstock, was arrested on Tuesday for stealing narcotics from her patient, said Lt. Jay Baker with the . 

Agents with the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad saw Armstrong take pills from her patient after a family member alerted them to missing pills. When agents arrested Armstrong, they found four more pills, Baker said. 

Armstrong is charged with two counts of felony theft by taking, two counts of elder abuse, two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and a single count of possession of a schedule III controlled substance.
