Holly Springs To Hold Citizen's Police Academy
Holly Springs residents are encouraged to sign up for the city's Citizen's Police Academy by Aug. 30.
Staff Report
The Holly Springs Police Department is currently accepting applications for its upcoming Citizen’s Police Academy.
The Citizen’s Police Academy has "become an important tool in uniting and strengthening the police department’s commitment to a safe city," the city said in a press release.
The academy is a series of six sessions which focus on varying aspects of law enforcement and citizen cooperation and creates a wonderful opportunity to peek inside the world of a police officer.
The sessions include a historical perspective of American law enforcement and its current application, the structure of the Holly Springs Police Department, an overview of the Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigation divisions and will include presentations by the K-9 unit and Bike Patrol Team.
Applications must return the application by Aug. 30. For more information contact Detective Greg Bettis at gbettis@hollyspringsga.us or 770-721-7526. You can also visit the city's website to download the application.
