Holly Springs Police Officer Shane Ladner and wife Meg Ladner, , were scheduled to leave the Lone Star State today about 4 p.m.
The two, set to fly back to Georgia, will land at Peachtree-DeKalb Airport and Meg Ladner, whose leg was amputated, will be transported to Atlanta Medical Center, said Holly Springs police spokesman Lt. Tanya Anderson. "We expect her to be at Atlanta Medical by 8 or 9 p.m.," Anderson added. "I have no updates on condition, prognosis, how long they expect to be at Atlanta [Medical], etc."
Officer Ladner was treated for back injuries he received in the accident as one of 25 veterans participating in the annual "Hunt for Heroes" event coordinated by Show of Support.
Ladner was chosen by the nonprofit organization to participate in the event and was also recognized for his military service after he was wounded in combat while on duty in Iraq.
A veteran of the United States Army, he was wounded twice in combat, for which he was recognized with awards for valor. His injuries eventually forced him to retire from active duty service in the Army.
Ladner has been served in law enforcement since 2005. He has been employed with the Holly Springs Police Department for three years.

So he can actually get a medal for valor. which medal it is depends. but when they give you the medal VALOR is usually one of the reasons they received it. Also they didn't say he got a valor medal. they said "he was recognized with awards for valor." so actually its you that's wrong. might need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills.
And he gave him credit. he said that he was awarded for his valor. just because he didnt put down all the medals the guy got doesnt mean he didnt give him credit. People like you are irritating. Only purpose in life is to point out something wrong, or see something as wrong because its not how YOU would have done it. The story in itself doesnt need to have the medals listed to get the point across. Why dont you go sue someone for not labeling their coffee as HOT. or their ice cream as COLD.

But they also failed to use the correct verbage the first time and did not notify the readers of their correction. Journalism 101 if you you do not have all of the facts do not include it in your story. Yes we all can agree that Sgt Ladner is loyal and has the qualities you mentioned in your defintion of Valor: strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness : personal bravery. However my point had nothing to do personally with Sgt.Ladner but with the sloppiness of the article which is the status quo of the Patch. Sgt Ladner and his wife deserve the upmost respect and honor from our community and nation for his service and sacrifices. Just give him the proper credit for earning those medals. Oh by the way I personally find it quite funny that you think I'm a lawsuit seeker. Nope. But if I see you mistreat the American flag, fail to illuminate it at.night or not take it down when it rains. I will be on your front door step.
