Gun Found at Home Likely Used to Kill Woodstock Man

A gun recovered at the scene of a SWAT standoff in Dawson County could be the weapon used in the slaying of a Woodstock man.

A gun recovered near the scene where two Woodstock murder suspects were taken into custody could be the weapon used to fatally shoot Christopher Pierce.

That's according to a report on Dawson News, which notes the .25 caliber handgun was found during a search of the home  on the 1600 block of Harmony Church Road.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office will perform ballistics testing on the gun to confirm if it's the murder weapon. The results could take longer than three months to come back, said Spokesman Lt. Jay Baker.

The home was where suspects John Michael Taylor and Krystle Gail Taylor had barricaded themselves inside last Tuesday. Krystle Taylor was taken into custody without incident at the home earlier that day, leaving her counterpart alone in the house hours before he was finally apprehended.

The article details that Taylor allegedly brandished a handgun during the standoff and was seen injecting himself with methamphetamine while negotiating with sheriff's deputies.

Taylor was later apprehended at the home with the help of deputies from the Cherokee, Dawson and Forsyth county sheriff's offices and the Georgia State Patrol.

Third suspect, Benson Kyle Lloyd, was arrested on Dec. 11 at the PGA Tour Superstore in Kennesaw.

All three have been charged with felony murder in the death of Christopher Pierce, 47, who was found deceased on Dec. 8 inside his home at 147 Misty Hollow Way.

All three suspects last week appeared before Cherokee County Chief Associate Magistrate Judge Gregory Douds to review their rights and to make sure they understood the charges against them.
