A mobile home in extreme northeast Cherokee County was heavily damaged in a fire early Friday morning.
Firefighters with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a call around 3:45 a.m. June 20 at a mobile home located at 3849 Conns Creek Road in unincorporated Ball Ground.
Firefighters arrived on scene and discovered the double-wide structure engulfed in heavy flames and smoke, said Cherokee fire spokesperson Tim Cavender.
A 46-year-old woman inside the home told authorities she woke up after hearing a loud "boom" to find smoke throughout the inside of the structure, Cavender added.
The woman's ex-husband and 29 year-old-son were also inside the home at the time of the fire, and all three were able to escape without injuries.
The mobile home received heavy fire, smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
