UPDATE: Driver Killed in Motorcycle Accident
Brandon Edward Lyon, 21, of Canton, was riding on Epperson Road when he lost control of his motorcycle.
A driver died late Wednesday morning in a motorcycle accident in Hickory Flat.
Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the accident around 11:45 a.m. at 713 Epperson Road, located off Avery Road.
Tracey Watson, spokesperson with the Georgia State Patrol, said the driver, Brandon Edward Lyon, 21, of Canton, was traveling south on Epperson Road when he lost contorl of his motorcycle on a hill crest, "ran off the road and hit a telephone pole."

Cherokee Fire Spokesperson Tim Cavender said first responders arrived onto the scene and found a Cherokee Sheriff's Office deputy already performing CPR on the driver, who died at the scene.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by Georgia State Patrol.
