Deputies Graduate State Public Safety Academy

Three Cherokee sheriff's deputies recognized for high achievements.

Deputies Nicholas Timms, Robert Arrieta and Darren Townsend graduated Friday from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center after 11 weeks of training, said Lt. Jay Baker with the sheriff's office.

Timms had the highest GPA in the class and Arrieta received the HRIC--Honor, Respect, Integrity and Courage--award.

The three are assigned to the Adult Detention Center, Baker said.
