10 Arrests in Acworth Mobile Home Park
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office went out to locate foreign-born citizens, but returned with 10 other arrests in a Cherokee mobile home park.
Sheriff's deputies and Immigration officials went out Tuesday night to round up more than 100 foreign-born citizens with outstanding warrants for their arrest. While they did not find any of those citizens, they arrested 10 additional residents of the Shadowood Mobile Home Park including one registered sex offender who had previously been deported from California,
Braulio Lopez-Galindo, 29, of Acworth, was arrested for possession of seven grams of cocaine and charged with possession and intent to distribute, according to the release. Galindo is currently in the Center on an ICE hold.
Another individual was arrested on a US Marshall’s Warrant for Violation of the RICO Act on racketeering.

Eight of the individuals were taken to the Whitfield County Jail to be held for deportation.
The U.S. Marshall’s Office transported the RICO suspect to an undisclosed federal holding facility.
