Make Learning the ABC's Fun
If children are not interested in learning, then the activity is not engaging.
Getting frustrated with helping your child learn their letters or letter sounds? Try
these few new ideas to make learning fun for you and your child!
1. Instead of running through the letters on index cards, have your child tape the
cards around the house. When they go into each room, see if they can name the
letter or tell you the letter sound. Don't forget the fun places like the
ceiling and the bathroom mirror! Having a hard time with one particular letter?
Just hang that letter around the house.
2. Look for letters as you drive down the road. Ask, "What letter(s) do you
see?" instead of "What letter is that?" Give the learning to your child and praise them when you find the letter they were looking at.
