Does it Work: Bissell Spotbot Pet

My dog is immaculately house trained. I can’t take credit or offer words of wisdom simply because she came that way from the rescue shelter. Daisy does, however, have what we like to call a “weak constitution.”

Daisy barfs a lot and she tends to do it in corners where you can't readily vacuum. 

Now, my clean dog that doesn’t bark, doesn’t go to the bathroom in the floor, and doesn’t tear things up works well for my clean-freak personality. But after four years of cleaning up spots from Daisy puke, I decided to invest in a little machine to do the work for me. 

So, a few weeks ago, I bought the Bissell Spotbot Pet for $129 at Target.

Most of my stains were set-in after a few months and had been saturated with every carpet cleaner available on Walmart and Target shelves.

Pros:

• The Spotbot removes non-set-in stains and almost all set-in stains.
• After getting it out, you don’t have to use much effort.

Cons:

• The machine only comes with one small supply of solution—or about three cleanings. You'll have to buy more if you have more stains. 
• It’s loud.
• It’s heavy to move around.

Before you buy:

Try getting stains out by taking a solid white t-shirt, dipping it in water mixed with dish soap and placing it over the stain. Then iron over the carpet until the stain transfers onto the t-shirt. I’ve had a lot of luck with this if I get to the stain before it dries.

In the end, it works. If you're out of cleaners and options and just want the stain out, buy this. If you haven't tried anything else yet, try those first.
