Rain Washes Out 'Canes & Cocoa'

Recent downpours have soaked J.J. Biello Park, forcing the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency to shutter the event.

Rainy, wet conditions has propelled the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency to cancel its 3rd annual Canes & Cocoa event

The event was set to take place Saturday morning at J.J. Biello Park in Woodstock.

"Unfortunately the rainy weather this week has made J.J. Biello Park and the Valley Playground extremely saturated and unsafe," CRPA wrote on its Facebook page.

Anyone who was slated to participate will get a $5 credit to their account, which can be applied towards future CRPA programs, the agency said.

Residents who would prefer to receive a $5 refund should contact Frankie Sanders at fsanders@cherokeega.com.
