LIVE MUSIC: Cute Boots, Trailfest 2013 featured artist, returns to Woodstock!
"open air, top down road trip music that glistens loud and proud with contagious energy and blue sky warmth." -Latest Disgrace
The term "Americana" is thrown around a lot in music. CUTE BOOTS use such a word on themselves because they believe their band should consist of a collection of songs and stories that reflect their real-life experiences as young, working American musicians. Born from the eclectic indie scene in Atlanta, GA, Cute Boots' piano-driven brand of "city-folk" is influenced by singer/songwriters like Paul Simon or James Taylor and energetic collaborative bands such as The Band, or Jackson Browne. Otis's (songwriter/pianist) affinity for melodic harmony makes for compelling live performances, often consisting of the band singing and telling under-dog stories of life as a widower, a son, traveling musician, etc. All stories unified under a common theme: The American experience. Composed of five life-long friends who call themselves Otis, Betty, Chief, Dr. Thumps, and Cyclone Charlie, Cute Boots is just warming up. With the release of a demo and two EP's, the band's developed a devoted local following in just over a year and aims to get a whole hell of a lot done in 2013.
