Oconee Investigators on Scene at Suspected Meth House - Oconee Patch

Oconee County law enforcement officials were at an East Haven Trail residence early Friday investigating a suspected methamphetamine lab, according to an email to media from Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Lee Weems.

About 11 p.m. Thursday, a helicopter landed at Malcom Bridge Elementary School to transport a burn patient, Weems said. Investigators later determined the man had likely been injured while cooking meth. See Oconee Patch for more on this story.

Police Looking for Suspect in Marshalls Armed Robbery - Sandy Springs Patch

Dunwoody Police are looking for a suspect in a Feb. 1, armed robbery at Marshalls, in the Perimeter area near Sandy Springs.

Police say the suspect robbed the department around 9 pm, brandishing a chrome and black semi-automatic pistol.

"The suspect is described as wearing an all-black jogging suit with stripes on the pants and an 'S' on the sweatshirt with a scarf covering most of his face," police said. See Sandy Springs Patch for more on this story.

Tossed Bottle of Acid Causes Small Explosion - Cartersville Patch

The evening of Valentine's Day held a surprise for movie theater patrons in Cartersville. Police say a bottle of acid with foil wrapped around the opening was tossed outside, causing a small explosion.

Kennesaw State Holds a Football Celebration - Kennesaw Patch

After offering the obligatory "Are you ready for some football?" exhortation, Kennesaw State University President Daniel Papp posed another question during a celebratory Thursday afternoon, and he had no intention of making it a rhetorical one.

"Why are we adding football?" he asked during the official launch of the school's varsity football program. "We are a major university in the South."
