Still No Suspects in Sun Glo Car Wash Killing - Cartersville Patch

On a warm, sunny day in Cartersville, a young woman washes her car as other patrons prepare to soap and vacuum their vehicles at Sun Glo Car Wash, where months earlier 28-year-old local resident R.J. Statler was shot once and killed.

Despite  to the arrest of the person responsible, police have no suspects in the  on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Statler was found after 11 p.m., lying in a car wash stall next to his pickup truck. He had been "mudding" with family earlier in the day. .

An Acworth man Sunday morning fatally shot a woman before turning the gun on himself, according to a Marietta Police Department spokesman.

Henry Harlan Wooten, 70, of Acworth and Kay Cornell Janus, 72, of Marietta had been involved in a long-term relationship, Marietta Police spokesman David Baldwin said. Read Acworth Patch for more on this story.

Sheriff's Office: Canton Man Arrested for Child Porn - Canton-Sixes Patch

A Canton man is out of jail on a $112,000 bond after being arrested last month for possession of child pornography on his computer.

According to Cherokee Sheriff's Office documents, the investigation against Martin Damian Bowman began on March 16, 2012.

"These types of cases are generally similar," said Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Lt. Jay Baker. "We receive information someone is sharing child porn, investigators write a search warrant for the home and computer of suspect, that search warrant is executed and the computer is taken and then a forensic search of the computer is done." Canton-Sixes Patch has an update on this story.
