Funeral arrangements have been set for a Marietta teen who was shot and killed Friday in Jacksonville, Fla., after an argument over loud music.

According to WSB TV, 17-year-old Jordan Russell Davis split time at his mother’s home in Marietta and in Jacksonville with his father. His family will receive friends today at a Jacksonville funeral home.

A Wal-mart security guard says he struggled with a shoplifting suspect who threatened him with a knife before fleeing on foot from the Epps Bridge Parkway store Wednesday.

It happened around 9:30 a.m., according to an indicident report on file at the Oconee County Sheriff's Offfice.   The loss prevention officer told deputies he witnessed the man exit the store with two cases of 36 cans of beer, turn around, re-enter the store and set the cases down.  When he confronted the man, the guard says a struggle ensued and the man pulled out a folding pocket knife and threatened him with it.  See Oconee Patch for more on this story.

Suwanee Woman Killed in McGinnis Ferry Accident - Suwanee Patch

A Suwanee woman and Bogart man have been identified as the persons killed Wednesday evening (November 28) in a head-on collision.

Jean Strickland, 79, of a Lake Pass Lane address in Suwanee and David Dowdy, 47, of Bogart were killed in the accident, which occurred about 6 p.m. See Suwanee Patch for more on this story.

Waffle House CEO Accused of 'Pattern of Sexual Harassment' - Acworth Patch

An Acworth woman has accused Waffle House CEO Joe W. Rogers Jr. of 100 incidents of sexual harassment during her time as his house manager.

Mye Brindle of Acworth said in recently unsealed documents that other women had been victims of Rogers' alleged "predatory sexual actions," according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Brindle's attorney David Cohen said Rogers exhibited a "pattern of sexual harassment and abuse," which could be a huge factor in the assistant's case if it goes to trial. See Acworth Patch for more on this story.

Creekview Teacher Arrested, Charged With Sexual Assault - Canton-Sixes Patch

A Creekview High School teacher has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student who attends the school, authorities say.

According to a press release from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, they were informed Tuesday by the Cherokee County School District of allegations of misconduct by 31-year-old Adam Blake Bearden, a special education teacher at Creekview since 2010. On Tuesday evening, Sheriff's deputies searched Bearden's Ball Ground home.
