53-Year-Old Inmate Dies in Jail - Douglasville Patch

A 53-Year-Old inmate died in the Douglas County Jail Wednesday at approximately 7:30 p.m. and an autopsy will be performed today, according to Sheriff Phil Miller.

"I have no reason to believe he died of anything but natural causes," Miller said.

Nurse Sentenced for Drug Sales Two Years After Teen's Death - Acworth Patch

A registered nurse was sentenced to 3 years in federal prison for selling a Valium-like "party drug" on eBay that was used by an Acworth teen who accidentally died in August 2010 after taking that drug and two others

Matthew Schroeder was sentenced Oct. 10 by U.S. Senior District Court Judge J. Owen Forrester for selling phenazepam, which is not approved for sale in the United States. While it is not listed as a controlled substance under federal drug laws, its sale for human consumption is prohibited in the United States except for research under strictly regulated terms. The Atlanta Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for a Sept. 14 burglary and firearms theft at Buck-N-Bass in Buford, Ga.

According to an ATF press release, suspect(s) used a stolen pickup truck to smash into the front door and wall of the store, which is located at 4901 Summer Oak Drive. Several handguns and rifles were stolen.
