East Cherokee Baseball Hosting Try Outs

What happens when "sunny" turns to "hot" at the National Weather Service? They have to create a new graphic for the heat.

The National Weather Service has one word for today: Hot. The high is predicted to reach 99 degrees in Cherokee before storms on Thursday bring the temperatures down a little. 

Elementary schools are serving reduced fat nachos or turkey corn dog, rice, corn, lettuce and tomato. Middle schools are serving beef ravioli with garlic breadstick, broccoli and garden salad. High schools are serving soup and grilled cheese with baby carrots and ranch dip.

The RaceTrac on Marietta Highway has stable gas prices at $3.65 a gallon for regular gas.

East Cherokee Baseball is still holding try outs. Registration will continue on August 6 and August 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at This league is open for 5 to 19-year-olds. Prices start at $90 for one player, $160 for two and $225 for three players.
