DRMS Elects School Council Members, Avery Learns About Democracy

There's a hazardous weather outlook for Cherokee County today as temperatures only reach 72 degrees. There's a 20 percent chance of showers and winds that could reach up to 15 mph.

The Petro South on Reinhardt College Parkway has the cheapest fuel for $3.38 a gallon today. 

Elementary schools are serving turkey corn dog bites or fish sticks, hushpuppies, green beans, coleslaw, baby carrots, applesauce and cookies. Middle and high schools are serving fish nuggets and shrimp poppers with hushpuppies, french fries and coleslaw.

fourth-graders learned about the democratic process through a presentation by State Rep. Calvin Hill (R-Hickory Flat) earlier this week. The presentation was part of the PTA “Legislators in Our Schools” initiative. 

The Cherokee County Office of Elections brought voting machines for students to vote for their Student Council Officers for 2011-12 on Thursday.
